At Sir William Stanier School, our values of Opportunity, Community and Courage are at the heart of our curriculum.

Our curriculum is designed not only to secure strong academic outcomes, but to give every student the knowledge, experiences and confidence they need to succeed at school and beyond.

Regular attendance is fundamental to this: being in school every day enables students to access the full curriculum, benefit from wider opportunities and remain connected to their school community.

Our Value What this means for our curriculum
Opportunity We provide a broad and ambitious curriculum that opens doors, raises aspirations and enables students to discover their strengths, interests and future pathways.
Community We help students develop a strong sense of belonging and responsibility, understand the world around them and make a positive contribution to their school and wider community.
Courage We encourage students to embrace challenge, learn from mistakes, persevere and develop the confidence to pursue ambitious goals.

Preparing for Life Beyond SWS

Throughout their time at Sir William Stanier School, students are supported to understand the opportunities available to them and make informed choices about their future. Our curriculum, careers education and wider experiences help prepare students for a successful transition to sixth form, college, apprenticeships, training, employment or other post-16 pathways.

Together, Opportunity, Community and Courage help ensure our students leave SWS well educated, ambitious and prepared to take their next steps with confidence.
