Our Careers Programme

Our careers programme is designed to inspire ambition and open doors to future opportunities. From Year 7 to Year 11, students follow a structured journey that helps them explore their interests, set goals and develop the confidence to make informed decisions about their future. This work forms part of our GROWTH Framework, supporting students to develop purpose, responsibility and ambition.

Our provision is guided by the Gatsby Benchmarks for Good Career Guidance, ensuring students benefit from a high-quality and progressive careers programme. Careers learning is embedded across the curriculum and supported by up-to-date information about education pathways and labour market opportunities.

The 8 Gatsby Benchmarks are:

  1. A stable careers programme
  2. Learning from careers and labour market information
  3. Addressing the needs of each pupil
  4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
  5. Encounters with employers and employees
  6. Experiences of workplaces
  7. Encounters with further and higher education
  8. Personal guidance

Students take part in employer encounters, workshops and careers activities that provide meaningful insight into the world of work. Visits to colleges and universities, along with employer talks and events, help broaden horizons and develop valuable employability skills.

By Year 11, all students receive personalised guidance from a qualified careers adviser, helping them feel confident and well prepared to take their next steps.
