Local Governing Board

Sir William Stanier School is proud to be part of The Learning Partnership Trust. Our Local Governing Board (LGB) plays an important role in the governance of the school, working with school leaders and the Trust to support our continued improvement and ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

Our governors bring a range of skills, knowledge and experience to their roles and maintain an active involvement in the life of the school.

The role of our Local Governing Board

The Local Governing Board provides support, challenge and local oversight. Its responsibilities include:

  • maintaining a strategic view of the school and its priorities;
  • monitoring the quality of education and the school’s overall performance;
  • supporting and challenging school leaders to secure high standards and strong outcomes for students;
  • monitoring matters relating to student welfare and the wider life of the school; and
  • acting as a link between Sir William Stanier School, our local community and The Learning Partnership Trust.

The LGB operates within the governance structure of The Learning Partnership Trust and carries out responsibilities delegated to it by the Trust Board.
